IMPACT Violence Prevention / ESDA

IMPACT Violence Prevention

IMPACT Violence Prevention is an international affiliation of independent chapters. Each chapter has its own organizational structure and programmatic focus, but all teach IMPACT self-defense classes.

IMPACT self-defense classes are personal safety, assertiveness, and self-defense training programs.  They are part of a comprehensive effort to prevent sexual assault and other acts of interpersonal violence and boundary violations.

Empowerment Self-Defense Alliance

The Empowerment Self-Defense Alliance (ESDA) is a collection of individuals and organizations that teach Empowerment Self-Defense. ESDA contributes to the anti-violence movement by promoting Empowerment Self-Defense as a strategy to prevent, stop, and heal from interpersonal violence.

ESDA uses a research-based model of empowerment self-defense that honors survivors, understands trauma, and is committed to social justice and social change to prevent violence.
